One of the ways Bridges for Justice builds relationships across differences is through our cultural exchange weekends. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Omaha and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Alliance are partnering for a year of relationship building, formation, fellowship and service.
Funding for these cultural exchange weekends, and other Bridges for Justice programming, is made possible by the United Thank Offering and the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska.
In September, a team from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will travel to Alliance to meet the larger parish community, learn about the places each community calls home, and spend a weekend together building relationships rooted in worship, Bible study, story sharing, and formation.
In June 2027, a team from St. Matthew’s will travel to Omaha for a cultural exchange weekend with St. Andrew’s.
The parishes will reunite on April 6, 2027 in Lincoln, where they will gather to meet with senators and advocate for state-level policy change rooted in Gospel values as part of the Diocese of Nebraska’s Advocacy Day. In addition, St. Andrew’s and St. Matthew’s clergy will be participating in a pulpit exchange, further connecting the two parishes together.
